Sith Happens

Bumbling deputy prime minister John Prescott has decided to relinquish one of the perks of his job. After initially insisting he would stay, he has, after the controversy it provoked, announced he will leave Dorneywood, his official country home in Buckinghamshire. So where will he go now?

Well, judging by the picture The Guardian have used, he’s off to a galaxy far, far away to master the dark side of the Force.

Daft Prescott, anyone?

I read an article by Roy Hattersley about John Prescott in today’s Guardian that was so spectacularly wrong, I had to post it here:

Wrong indeed. The notion that the fuss was all because Prescott was playing croquet – supposedly a game for ‘toffs’ – is just absurd. The reaction would have been no different if he’d been doing something ‘working class’ – drinking lager, playing darts, or maybe grooming his whippets. People just resent the idea of this buffoon dossing about when he’s supposedly holding the reins of government. “Class war” (I mean really) doesn’t enter into it. Class war doesn’t enter into anything except the minds of deluded socialists. Like Hattersley.
